Noerr recruits Andre Happel as partner in its tax practice group
Noerr is continuing to expand its position as a leading independent law firm: lawyer and tax advisor Andre Happel (43) will join the firm’s Frankfurt office as an equity partner on 1 February 2023.
Andre Happel started out his career as a tax lawyer at Freshfields. In early 2020, he moved to Fieldfisher where he built up the German tax practice. His practice focuses on providing tax advice on national and international M&A transactions and corporate tax law, as was already the case during his time at Freshfields. He advises German and foreign corporations, credit institutions, family-owned companies, institutional and strategic investors and financial investors.
“With his experience and expertise, Andre Happel is ideally suited to work with our Private Equity, Corporate/Mergers & Acquisitions, Compliance & Internal Investigations practice groups and our Real Estate Investment Group,” said Georg Edelmann, co-head of the tax department at Noerr.
Andre Happel will continue to grow the Frankfurt office together with Martin Haisch, whose main focus is on investment and investment tax law.

Noerr’s Tax practice group has more than 60 members and advises on national and international tax issues. Its portfolio ranges from providing tax advice on M&A/private equity transactions, fund structuring and fund investments, corporate reorganisations and succession issues to tax compliance and investigations, as well as advising clients on enforcing their rights in and out of court.
