Noerr advises KKR on takeover of Wiedemann & Berg TV
A Noerr team led by Johannes Kreile has advised Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. (KKR) on a further transaction on the German media market. LEONINE, an independent media enterprise funded by KKR, is taking over Wiedemann & Berg TV (W&B Television GmbH & Co. KG) from producers and managing directors Quirin Berg and Max Wiedemann, and from Endemol Shine Germany.
As part of the acquisition, the Berlin-based business of W&B TV is being spun off into a subsidiary of Endemol Shine Germany. The acquisition is still subject to clearance by the authorities.
KKR set up the LEONINE group by combining the Tele München Group, Universum Film, i&u TV, and Wiedemann & Berg Film. Noerr has advised KKR together with Hengeler Mueller. Noerr and Hengeler also jointly supported KKR in the previous takeovers to form the new media group.
