Noerr advises KKR on takeover of Tele München Group
Noerr has advised Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. L.P. (“KKR”) on the takeover of the Tele München Group (“TMG”).
TMG is the largest independent media enterprise in Germany, combining all audio-visual levels of exploitation under one roof. TMG is an industry leader in acquiring rights for international movies and series and owns the market’s largest programme library. In addition to its own production firms, TMG also holds interests in the TV channels TELE 5 and RTL II. KKR is set to further develop TMG and create a market-leading platform which covers the complete value-added chain from film set to movie theatre and TV exploitation with its own productions.
The transaction is still subject to clearance by the authorities.
Noerr advised KKR with a team led by Georg Schneider, who co-heads the firm’s private equity practice, and Johannes Kreile. Noerr had already advised KKR on its investment in the media company ProSiebenSat1 Media AG. In the present deal, the Noerr team advised the financial investor together with Hengeler Mueller.
