Noerr advises KKR on takeover of production company i&u TV

Noerr has again advised the investor Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. (“KKR”) on a transaction on the German media market. Funds advised by KKR have taken over the production company i&u Information und Unterhaltung TV Produktion GmbH & Co. KG (“i&u TV”), which was established by the German TV entertainment figure Günther Jauch.

A producer of popular infotainment television programmes such as “stern TV”, “Klein gegen Groß”, “Die Ultimative Chartshow” or “Menschen, Bilder, Emotionen” for Germany’s television channels with the largest viewing audiences, i&u TV works closely with well-known German show presenters such as Barbara Schöneberger, Thomas Gottschalk, Kai Pflaume, Jörg Pilawa and Oliver Pocher.

The transactions are subject to regulatory approval.

Noerr advised KKR together with Hengeler Mueller. The firms also jointly advised KKR recently on the takeovers of Tele München Group and Universum Film.
