Noerr advises financial investor Nature Infrastructure Capital (NIC) on acquisition of MaxSolar GmbH

A Noerr team led by partners Robert Korndörfer and Christoph Spiering has advised the financial investor Nature Infrastructure Capital (NIC) on all legal aspects of the acquisition of the German company MaxSolar GmbH.

NIC acquired MaxSolar together with the publicly traded Portuguese renewable energy firm Greenvolt in a competitive bidding process.

The acquisition of MaxSolar is an important step for NIC and Greenvolt in the European solar energy market, which is one of the most significant markets for renewable energies, and solar energy is a core element of Germany’s energy transition. MaxSolar will deliver clean utility scale and decentralized energy generation capacity to local communities in Germany and the surrounding countries.

NIC is a global private equity company that invests primarily in renewable energies and infrastructure, including distributed generation platforms and energy storage.

Founded in 2009, MaxSolar specialises in energy storage systems and charging solutions. It develops ground-mounted and rooftop solar projects and provides utility-scale and rooftop EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) services for photovoltaic systems. MaxSolar is one of the leaders in this segment of the German market.
