Noerr advises French-based Sogestran Group on acquisition of German shipping company Jaegers

28.01.2025

A team from Noerr under the remit of Alexander Hirsch has advised the French-based Sogestran Group on the acquisition of Reederei Jaegers GmbH in cooperation with the French law firm Jeantet. Reederei Jaegers, a shipping company based in Duisburg, specialises in transporting liquid petrochemical and chemical bulk goods on European inland waterways. Closing is expected to take place in the first quarter of 2025.

The transaction (which also includes the acquisition of 57 ships) will make the Sogestran Group one of the leading inland waterway shipping companies specialising in liquid bulk goods in the European market. Going forward, Sogestran will have more than 200 motor vessels, push boats and barges operating on European waterways, enabling it to offer international customers even better solutions for inland transport throughout Europe.
