21.07.2021

A Noerr team under the joint lead of Georg Schneider and Robert Korndörfer has advised the Chinese battery manufacturer Gotion High-Tech on the acquisition of Bosch’s plant in Göttingen. With this transaction, Gotion High-Tech is acquiring all the shares in Robert Bosch Aftermarket Solutions GmbH.

The plant, which employs 300 people, has up to now refurbished used parts for Bosch’s global exchange business (Bosch Exchange). Gotion High Tech, of which Volkswagen has been the majority shareholder since May of this year, will be refitting the plant for the assembly of lithium-ion batteries. The transaction marks the first acquisition of a production facility in Germany by China’s third largest battery manufacturer.
