Noerr advises Deutsche Börse on investment with Commerzbank in new digital market-places of the future

30.04.2021

With a team led by Holger H. Ebersberger, Noerr has advised Deutsche Börse on an agreement for a strategic partnership with fintech 360X and Commerzbank.

The business partners combine their strengths: Deutsche Börse as an experienced market infrastructure operator, Commerzbank as a partner for the digital banking world of tomorrow, and 360X’s experienced team of fintech founders will jointly work on digital marketplaces of the future to generate new revenue potential.

The aim of the partnership is to develop new blockchain-based digital marketplaces and ecosystems for existing real asset classes such as art and real estate. The assets will be made investable and tradable via tokenisation and fractionalisation. Tokenised real assets are mapped on the blockchain to facilitate access for investors and allow the fractionalisation of the underlying asset.

“New marketplaces and ecosystems for digital investment categories are some of the biggest issues of the future in the financial sector,” says Holger H. Ebersberger, partner in the Munich office of Noerr. “I am delighted our team was given the opportunity to support Deutsche Börse in a project requiring the highest standards of legal comfort, adherence to regulatory conditions and the establishment of a regulated secondary market.”

Deutsche Börse’s transaction team was led by Johanna Pflug and Florian Späth.
