Noerr advises Bremer Kreditbank on the purchase of Bankhaus Neelmeyer
The European law firm Noerr advised Bremer Kreditbank AG (BKB Bank) on the purchase of Bankhaus Neelmeyer, also based in Bremen. The seller is UniCredit Bank AG. A team led by corporate partner Prof. Dr. Christian Pleister acted for Bremer Kreditbank in the transaction.
With the purchase, two traditional banks, each with a different business focus, merge. Bremer Kreditbank concentrates on business with medium-sized company customers and acquisition financing and commercial property financing. Bankhaus Neelmeyer on the other hand relies on private customers. The transaction still requires the approval of the appropriate authorities.
Noerr is one of the leading law firms for advice in transactions in the financial industry. Only recently a Noerr team advised payleven Holding comprehensively on a series-D financing round and the entry of the Venture-Capital fund Seventure Partners. Last year, Noerr also supported the Oddo Group in the acquisition of Meriten Investment Management GmbH. ABN AMRO also relied on Noerr’s advice in the takeover of the German private banking business of Credit Suisse.
