Noerr advises AEQUITA on acquisition of Willi Elbe Group

Noerr has advised AEQUITA SE & Co. KGaA (AEQUITA) on its acquisition of the Willi Elbe Group. The automotive company is one of the leading tier 1 suppliers of steering and drive technology, specialising in high-tech, customised systems for premium OEMs.

With around 1,000 employees at its production and R&D sites in Germany, Switzerland, Norway, Bulgaria, China and Mexico, the group generates sales of approximately EUR 180 million. It is headquartered in Tamm in the Stuttgart metropolitan region.

AEQUITA was the successful bidder in a highly competitive bidding process. AEQUITA’s industry expertise and restructuring experience were the decisive factors in the selection process. This will enable the Willi Elbe Group to expand its operations and further strengthen its strong market position.

AEQUITA was advised in this transaction by a team led by Noerr’s Munich-based partner Christoph Thiermann. Previously, another team headed by Christoph Thiermann had advised AEQUITA on its acquisition of Toyoda Gosei Meteor.
