Noerr advises DFV Deutsche Familienversicherung, the first Insurtech to successfully list on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange

30.11.2018

Noerr has advised DFV Deutsche Familienversicherung AG (DFV) and the accompanying consortium banks Hauck & Aufhäuser Privatbankiers and MainFirst Bank on the successful IPO of DFV on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. The company's shares are to be listed on the regulated market (Prime Standard) of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange on 4 December 2018.

DFV is the first Insurtech, i.e. a purely digital insurer, to go public in Germany. Founded in 2007, DFV has a scalable, self-developed IT platform for sales and portfolio management of supplementary health and property insurance. In addition, DFV is the world's first insurer to offer the conclusion of an insurance contract via Amazon Alexa. The digital platform already enables the Insurtech to manage 420,000 active policies with only 109 employees. DFV continues to see great growth potential in the German market.

The IPO was accompanied by Hauck & Aufhäuser Privatbankiers AG as sole global coordinator and joint bookrunner. MainFirst Bank AG acted as joint bookrunner.

The parties relied on a Noerr team led by Julian Schulze De la Cruz and Holger Alfes for legal advice on the IPO. By advising on the IPO, Noerr was once again able to successfully combine its insurance supervisory and corporate law expertise in a joint advisory team. A team led by Julian Schulze De la Cruz and Ralph Schilha also advised Mutares on the IPO of STS Group AG this year. In addition, Noerr has recently also played a major role in the IPOs of Instone, Westwing, home24 and Delivery Hero's billion-euro IPO.
