Noerr advises on sale of Thomas Cook hotel brand SENTIDO to DER Touristik
Noerr has advised insolvency administrator Julia Kappel-Gnirs (hww hermann wienberg wilhelm) on the sale of the SENTIDO hotel brand. DER Touristik is taking over the brand rights from Sentido Hotels & Ressorts GmbH, a subsidiary of Thomas Cook GmbH.
The sale to DER Touristik will open up new opportunities for the hotel brand’s franchise partners in the future. SENTIDO’s four- and five-star hotels are mainly located on the Mediterranean and are booked mostly by guests from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The acquisition is still subject to clearance by the competition authorities.
A team from Noerr led by Munich-based partner Florian Becker assisted in the transaction. The team had previously assisted insolvency administrator Julia Kappel-Gnirs during the sale of Thomas Cook’s subsidiary Bucher Reisen & ÖGER TOURS GmbH to the Turkish travel operator ANEX Tour, and likewise the provisional insolvency administrator of Thomas Cook GmbH in the sale of 106 travel agencies and the “Golden Gate” e-commerce platform to Galeria Karstadt Kaufhof.
