Noerr advised Nippon Steel Corporation (NSC), Japan’s largest steelmaker, on the acquisition of U. S. Steel for a total enterprise value of USD14.9 billion.

 Noerr acted on this transaction together with Ropes & Gray and advised on European aspects, in particular relating to U. S. Steel’s activities in Germany and CEE (U. S. Steel Europe). The transaction was announced in a press release on December 18, 2023.
